Thief into Assassin hits hard per SP once geared, but early deaths are expensive. Rogue is the utility/strip fork. Assassin builds focus on stacking Critical Rate and ATK for devastating melee bursts, while Rogue excels at stripping enemy equipment and utility in parties.
The 2nd job brings Sword Mastery and Improved Dark Claw, dramatically increasing Assassin damage output. Full-crit builds can achieve 100% crit rate with proper gear, making them dominant in 1v1 scenarios and PvP.
Critical Explosion (Assassin)
Converts crits into AoE damage. With 100% crit rate builds, this turns every attack into a small AoE nuke.
Soul Breaker (Lv. 10)
Your strongest single-target burst. Deals massive ranged damage with a chance to inflict Bleeding. Essential for picking off priority targets.
Sonic Acceleration (Rogue)
Increases ASPD and grants evasion bonuses. Rogue builds focus on utility: Strip skills, Hiding for escape, and Sonic Acceleration for mobility.
Katar Proficiency (Assassin)
Katar-wielding Assassins deal superior damage per hit compared to daggers. Consider this if you prioritize burst over safety.
- Assassin is fragile early — invest in Fly Wing discipline before committing to this class.
- Full-crit builds require Critical Ring + Materials for 100% crit rate. Budget builds should aim for 70-80%.
- Rogue's strip skills are highly valued in WoE for removing enemy gear buffs.
- Katar builds sacrifice defense for raw damage — only viable with strong party support.
