Pets in ROZ fit into three rough categories: Get Poring browser companions, mercenary scrolls hired in-game, and the post-launch Homunculus system. Each carries a different economy and growth curve.
Get Poring transfers companion tokens into your PC character; mercenary scrolls feed short-term buffs and zeny routes; Homunculus unlocks when your Sage or Alchemist 2nd Job launches.
Treat companion picks as part of your build, not an afterthought — even the cheapest mercenary can save a 10% Base EXP run.

- Refresh mercenary timers with a lever item from the shop — they expire before you realize.
- Link your browser Poring as soon as you reach GNJOY level 2 — extra Game Pass days double your trial value.
- Don't buy 'purple' companion packs from third-party sites. ROZ has no authorized partner selling companion cards.
- Read the Homunculus tutorial when 2nd Jobs drop — skills are random and the right starting Talent matters.
