Where to slot, what to hunt, and which ROZ rebalances changed the classic card tier lists.
Last updated: September 3, 2026
ROZ Global rebalanced the card pool to remove pay-to-win imbalances and breathe life into options that classic RO skipped. iRO/kRO tier lists are not authoritative anymore — read each tooltip before assuming a card's role.
The categories below group the most-used launch cards by slot and purpose. Use them as a quick reference, then verify with the in-game card encyclopedia for exact stats and combo effects.
Card farming pairs naturally with Map Database routes and MVP hunts. Many boss drops end up as either BiS inserts or future Rune fodder.
Weapon Cards
Slot into weapon slots. Most are elemental or race-sized bonuses for PvM damage.
- Hydra Card — small Monsters size bonus, cheap replacement
- Skeleton Worker Card — +5 STR variant, common headgear replacement
- Vadon Card — fire 2 / ranged, budget archer option
- Plankton Card — element Water 1, leveling alternative
- Peco Peco Card — +5 MaxHP, anti-burst defensive option
Armor Cards
Defensive slots. Common pattern: race or size reductions for tanking.
- Pupa Card (Headgear) — +30 DEF substitute when budget tight
- Thara Frog Card — small size reduction
- Anolian Card — Water resist / neutral conversion
- Sandals Card set (Sandals / Kobold) — small race breakpoints
- Vocal Card — neutral ele, optional nuker-friendly swap
Accessory Cards
Top-tier inserts — most expensive but most impactful. Combo slots are limited.
- Maya Card — Tier 1 boss accessory in Classic, still strong in ROZ
- Eddga Card — large size, classic slot target
- Baphomet Card — versatile boss card used in many builds
- Stormy Knight Card — major stat combo
Headgear Cards
Slot-specific inserts that improve helm / mid-head pieces.
- Zherlthsh Mask — early headgear card
- Arayo Card (Headgear top) — money-saving placeholder
- Rodaflip Card — Def-bonus for tanks
Garment Cards
Useful for evasion, magic damage reduction, or PoP-style builds.
- Noah Card — race replacement
- Wanderer Card — minor avoidance
- Fabre Card — starter replacement to lift early DEF
What changed in ROZ
Buffed forgotten cards
Many classic RO trash cards received stat or proc buffs — re-read tooltips rather than relying on community labels.
Toned-down boss cards
Cards that defined older metas (Maya, Hydra in some positions) lost absolute dominance but remain top picks.
Slot reassignments
Some cards moved to different slots (weapon ↔ armor ↔ accessory). Don't trust slot memory from classic screenshots.
- Cross-reference the in-game card Encyclopedia — it has been updated for ROZ specifically.
- Decide between 'use' or 'fodder' cards early: surplus cards convert to Unstable Runes via dismantling.
- Avoid paying third parties for 'BiS cards.' Live economy prices have not settled — three-day comparisons beat spot buys.
- Pair card choices with monster element / race of your target map — see the Map Database.
