Merchant into Blacksmith is slower combat and stronger zeny. Alchemist is the potion/homunculus fork. If you enjoy vending and refine markets, start now so craft demand around 2nd Jobs does not leave you behind.
Blacksmith 2nd job brings forging improvements and Hammerschlag for damage. Alchemist gains Homunculus control and potion creation bonuses.
Hammerschlag (Lv. 10) (Blacksmith)
Devastating damage vs armored targets. Essential for breaking enemy equipment in PvP and dealing bonus damage to high-DEF MVP targets.
Weapon Research (Blacksmith)
Increases ATK based on weapon level and refines. Blacksmiths deal significant physical damage while maintaining crafting utility.
Homunculus Control (Alchemist)
Homunculus provides an autonomous combat companion. With proper feeding and leveling, they become powerful farming partners.
Potion Crafting (Alchemist)
Alchemists create powerful potions unavailable to other classes. High-level potions provide significant stat boosts for the entire party.
