October 2026's desert ruins dungeon — trap puzzles, Anubis guards, and the Amon Ra boss.
Last updated: September 3, 2026
Sphinx opens in October 2026 as part of the same content wave as Clock Tower and Prontera Labyrinth. This desert ruins dungeon requires parties to solve riddle-based puzzles and defeat guardian monsters to progress through its five floors.
The dungeon is themed around ancient Egyptian aesthetics — sandstone corridors, hieroglyph puzzles, and the burning heat of the desert above seeping through cracked ceilings. Each floor introduces new puzzle mechanics that build on previous ones.
The Amon Ra boss on Floor 5 is shared with Prontera Labyrinth but has a different attack pattern in Sphinx — the two dungeons are connected lore-wise but mechanically distinct.
Hieroglyph Puzzle System (Floor 2)
Floor 2 requires translating hieroglyphic symbols to unlock doors. Solutions rotate daily and are posted in community channels. Check party chat or community resources before starting a run.
Anubis Guards (Primary Threat)
Anubis guardians deal heavy physical damage with a chance to inflict Curse status. Crusaders with Holy conversion handle these effectively. Remove Curse immediately — it prevents HP recovery.
Desert Heat Mechanic (Floor 3)
Floor 3 has a heat overlay that deals passive damage over time. The damage is minimal individually but stacks with monster damage to create lethal combinations. Priest support is strongly recommended.
Amon Ra (Floor 5 — Sphinx Variant)
The Sphinx version of Amon Ra uses more Fire-elemental attacks than the Prontera Labyrinth variant. Bring Fire resistance gear or converters. Same Pharaoh Card drop as the Labyrinth version.
Shared Amon Ra Access
Both Sphinx and Prontera Labyrinth feature Amon Ra as the final boss, but each instance tracks its own spawn timer. Running one does not reset the other — you can attempt both per day.
- Coordinate with your party before entering — communicate puzzle solutions and boss callouts to avoid wasted runs.
- Curse immunity or removal is mandatory for Floor 4 Anubis sections — never run this dungeon without a Priest orSage with Curse recovery.
- Wizard and High Wizard excel on the dense Anubis packs on Floor 3 due to their AoE burst.
- Sphinx and Prontera Labyrinth share the Pharaoh Card market — monitor prices across both dungeons.
- October farming should prioritize both dungeons for Amon Ra cards — the market is driven by Wizard demand from the Level 70 expansion.
