Stats & DEF Guide

Hard DEF, Soft DEF, and how to allocate points so Auto-Hunt and Raid hits do not delete your EXP bar.

Last updated: September 3, 2026

ROZ keeps the classic split: Hard DEF comes from equipment and refine; Soft DEF comes from VIT and base level. Hard DEF cuts a percentage of physical damage; Soft DEF then subtracts a flat amount. Diminishing returns are real — the jump from 80 to 100 Hard DEF matters more than 140 to 160.

Soft DEF grows as you level even without VIT dumps, but fragile classes still need intentional VIT or they die on Flora packs the moment aggro spikes. Free resets usually end around Base 40 — lock a plan before then.

Hard DEF stack

Armor, shield, garment, shoes, and headgear all add printed DEF. Refine multiplies the stack — early +1 to +4 gains are small; mid-high refine jumps harder. Cards and buffs can feed Hard DEF too.

Soft DEF formula feel

Soft DEF tracks VIT and base level. A Level 50 character with middling VIT already shows Soft DEF in the character window — use that readout when testing AFK spots.

Flee & weight matter

AGI Flee and weight limits decide whether Auto-Hunt teleports forever or stands still overweight. Flat Flee on garments pairs with Soft DEF better than chasing one more Hard DEF point.

Class snapshots

Swordsman leans VIT/STR for forgiveable mistakes. Mage wants INT with enough VIT to survive one accidental aggro. Archer stacks DEX/AGI and treats Flee as a DEF substitute. Merchant can afford balanced VIT for cart AFK.

Raid vs grind stats

Field grind favors survivability and ASPD. MVP Raid stages punish glass cannons — bring the VIT you skipped on pure DPS boards.

Respec window

Finalize spreads before Base 40 while resets are free. September 3 second jobs will tempt respecs — leave a plan, not a panic.
